Aromatherapy
According to the International Aromatherapy Association, Aromatherapy is a complementary treatment technique, which makes use of 100% pure Essential Oils, whose plant sources were cultivated, harvested and processed in order to preserve the chemical substances. This property assists in the treatment of physical, mental, emotional and general well-being symptoms. Aromatherapy is recognized by the World Health Organization.
Essential Oils are the most concentrated form of plant energy. They are organic and natural substances, responsible for the aroma of aromatic plants. Essential Oils gently work on the body, restoring our healing energies and providing a balance between body, mind and spirit.
Aromatherapy complements other therapies, both conventional and complementary (today called integrative care), which seek to cure their patients.
In more direct terms, Aromatherapy shows that there are links between smell and feelings. When inhaling aromas, the olfactory channels send the message directly to the Limbic System, which is the part of the Central Nervous System responsible for emotions. After identifying the smell, the brain reacts to the aromatic properties, changing the mood, the mood of someone or even reaching emotional pain.
Dami Acupunctuur & Welzijn uses Aromatherapy during the session and provides guidelines for daily home use.

Types of treatments
Oil used in the clinic
Dami Acupunctuur & Welzijn uses the essential oil Lavender, for some
sessions, through dilution with water in a diffuser.
Lavender has its origins in the European Mediterranean area, the East and India, being later introduced in almost all continents.
Essential oil is actually produced and stored in the leaves. The oil glands are embedded in the middle of the fine down that covers the plant.
Considered the mother of all oils, Lavender seems to clean and soothe
the spirit, alleviating irritation and exhaustion, resulting in an approach
calmer in life. It has long been recognized for providing effective relief from insomnia. Helps to relieve mild pain.
It is necessary to emphasize that the WHO (World Health Organization) criticizes the oral use of essential oils. Its use is oriented through diffusers, thinners and massage therapy (diluted in vegetable oil).
Home oriented use
As needed, Dami Acupunctuur & Welzijn advises its patients to complement their Acupuncture treatment with the use of Aromatherapy at home.
Generally, guidance for Aromatherapy at home is based on the use of diffusers, dripping a small amount of essential oil onto the pillow to inhale, or using the individual diffuser.

Your first appointment?
During the first visit (approximately 2 hours), we will conduct an assessment where we will discuss your main health concerns, review your health history, answer questions, and give you your first treatment.
Bij Dami’s Acupunctuur & Welzijn maken wij tijdens het eerste consult altijd een tonganalyse. De observatie van de tong is een van de belangrijkste onderdelen van de Chinese diagnostiek.
During a tongue analysis, we can evaluate changes in color, shape, movement and coating lingual. This allows the Acupuncturist to observe changes in the body so that the treatment can be adjusted according to what was evaluated.
Therefore, we ask that you consume colorful food and beverages up to 2 hours before your appointment. This may affect the results of the tongue analysis. Water consumption is allowed.
