Moxa
Originating in northern China, Moxibustion – Jiú (pinyin) literally means, “long time of application of fire", being considered a kind of Acupuncture thermal, made by the combustion of the herb Artemisia sinensis and Artemisia vulgaris.

The effect of moxa is similar to Acupuncture, as it works through heat, stimulating energy points, to strengthen the circulation of Qi (energy) and blood.

Traditional Chinese medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine does not treat a disease, but rather the disharmonious energy pattern that causes that disease. Health, for Traditional Chinese Medicine, is the result of the balance between Yin and Yang. When these are out of balance, the disease process occurs. So the disease doesn't appear overnight. It is the result of a succession of stressful experiences, accompanied by a weakness in the protection mechanism. (Maciocia, 1996)

Dami Acupuntuur & Welzijn works with restoring balance body energy. As a result, your complaints may decrease or even disappear. See which treatment below is better for you.

How may we help you?

Stress / Burn-out

Burnout is a common complaint in our hectic society. Burnout is almost always the result of an emotional overload that has gone on for a long time and where the limits themselves have been crossed.

The energy is completely absorbed by the stress experienced by restlessness in the head and tension in the body.

Acupuncture treatment focuses on reducing tension in the body and getting more peace in the head.

Pain

Pain has a significant impact on our quality of life, making it difficult to enjoy life to the fullest!

By treating acupuncture points, energy flow can be restored and the pain lessened or even disappeared. In addition, the treatment promotes the production of the body's own painkillers (endorphins).

Allergies

As soon as spring comes, they start; sneezing, coughing, itchy eyes and tension. The "hooikoorts" got you! And that's just when you want to have fun to the max: spring and summer!

Hooikoorts is a hypersensitivity reaction in the body to pollen grains from plants, trees and grasses that, at this time of year, pollinate through the wind. Pollen, which in itself is harmless, is considered an invader and the body produces a substance (histamine) to fight it. Some people cannot tolerate the substance and develop hooikoorts.

Hormonal changes that occur before, during, and after the menstrual cycle can cause cycle related complaints. Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine and Natural Gynecology provide a natural, safe and effective way to improve most irregularities in the menstrual cycle.

Generally speaking, Traditional Chinese Medicine, together with the three areas above, identifies and treats the basic energy imbalances in a woman's body and helps with many gynecological problems.

Dami Acupunctuur & Welzijn, through these forms of treatments, helps women to awaken the feminine power, in a natural, integrative and therapeutic way.

Treatments

Acupuncture

Acupuncture techniques are based on the concept that our body is composed of energy channels, called Meridians. If the flow of energy in these channels is blocked, there will be inflammation in the body, or pain, or even emotional complaints.

Cupping

Dami Acupunctuur & Welzijn uses acrylic suction cups, accompanied by pumps for air suction. This causes negative pressure inside the cup, resulting in improved circulation and blood cleansing (Xue).

Aromatherapy

When inhaling scents, the olfactory tracts send the message directly to the limbic system, the part of the Central Nervous System responsible for emotions. After identifying the smell, the brain reacts to the aromatic properties, changing mood, mood or even emotional pain.

Acupuncture Anatomy Points

Auriculoterapy

Auriculotherapy is a therapeutic technique that acts by stimulating strategic points in the ear, with the aim of generating positive effects on the body, such as pain relief and the treatment of physical and psychological problems.

Moxa

Moxa or moxibustion therapy is a traditional Chinese treatment method and has been around for over three thousand years. Moxa (artemisia vulgaris) also known as mugwort herb is widely used in acupuncture treatments.

Acupressure

The technique consists of massaging points or the path of Acupuncture meridians in the body. Through traditional Chinese medicine, Acupressure unlocks Acupuncture channels and points, allowing Qi ("energy") to circulate freely throughout the body, restoring body function and promoting "self-healing".
