Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient technique, originated in China, where the acupuncturist applies stimuli to specific points of the body, aimed at improving immunity, treating emotional problems and symptoms of physical illness.
Acupuncture techniques are based on the concept that our body is composed of energy channels, called Meridians. If the flow of energy in these channels is blocked, there will be inflammation in the body, or pain, or even emotional complaints.
Following this reasoning, Acupuncture will work the energy points to promote energy circulation, thus achieving energy balance. And thus trigger analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects.
Currently, the practice of Acupuncture is no longer conditioned to the use of needles only, as it is also possible to stimulate the energy point through electric current, laser, sound vibration, color, adhesive tape, magnet, radionic crystals, moxibustion, seeds, acupressure , between others.
As acupuncture rarely causes side effects, it can be considered a safe treatment for people of all ages.
Treats the following symptoms and several others

Types of treatments
Needle acupuncture
Acupuncture treatment with needles involves inserting very fine needles through the skin at certain places on the body for therapeutic or preventive purposes. These places in the body are called energy points.
Acupuncture needles are disposable, sterilized, made of stainless steel and flexible, with oval, elongated, non-cutting tips and very fine diameters, characteristics that differ from needles commonly used for injectable medications. The gauge (diameter) of the needles is comparable to that of a human hair. So there is no need to be afraid of needles.
Cromopuncture
It is a vibrational technique that aims to balance the energies of the body through the irradiation of colored lights into acupuncture points.
It is important to distinguish here from color therapy or chromotherapy, which also uses colors but is applied to larger areas and not points.
For Cromopuntura, a copper chromatic stick is used, which has a quartz crystal at the tip. This Crystal together with the medal colors will promote the balance of the energy point.
Electroacupuncture
Electroacupuncture is a modern Acupuncture technique, in which a pulse current is passed through the body's tissues through acupuncture needles.
The electrical stimuli are made through electrodes that are attached to acupunctures and systematically release electrical pulses of faradic current, which aim to tonify, sedate or harmonize the points.
This technique is used to enhance the effect of needles, especially in the application of analgesia for acupuncture. Electroacupuncture points are similar to those used in Classic Acupuncture.Electroacupuncture appears to produce benefits that outlast the temporary analgesic effect.
Pain relief after electroacupuncture therapy can reduce muscle spasm and allow active movement, improving local peripheral circulation and stimulating the healing process.Any patient who has not responded to Classic Acupuncture therapy may be considered for treatment with Electroacupuncture.
Needle acupuncture and Moxa
This technique is known as “Heated Needle” and consists of, after applying the Acupuncture needle to the patient, bringing the lit moxa (such as a stick moxa) closer to the needle. Then, the technique is performed, moving the moxa apart and bringing it closer, as described in this website.
It is important to emphasize that the heat given off by the moxa will be transmitted by the metallic body of the needle, which contributes to increase its effectiveness.
Magnetoterapia
Magnetotherapy uses magnets with specific poles that must be correctly applied, promoting anti-inflammatory or toning effects.
Magnetic field therapy influences the electrically charged particles in the cell wall and therefore stimulates blood flow. The result is that waste products are better removed and more oxygen is added.
What we see here is that water and therefore our entire body is actually magnetic. This in itself is not a new discovery: the magnetic properties of water are small, but they have been known for over 100 years.

Your first appointment?
During the first visit (approximately 2 hours), we will conduct an assessment where we will discuss your main health concerns, review your health history, answer questions, and give you your first treatment.
Bij Dami’s Acupunctuur & Welzijn maken wij tijdens het eerste consult altijd een tonganalyse. De observatie van de tong is een van de belangrijkste onderdelen van de Chinese diagnostiek.
During a tongue analysis, we can evaluate changes in color, shape, movement and coating lingual. This allows the Acupuncturist to observe changes in the body so that the treatment can be adjusted according to what was evaluated.
Therefore, we ask that you consume colorful food and beverages up to 2 hours before your appointment. This may affect the results of the tongue analysis. Water consumption is allowed.
